Communities in coastal areas, especially the peatlands, feel neglected by unfair policies. This study aims to obtain information about the problems and obstacles to poverty alleviation for coastal communities through a cross-sectoral approach. According to the research findings, the community residing in the coastal areas faces economic challenges and relatively low levels of prosperity. This situation arises from limited infrastructure, low soil fertility, and rural development disparities. Government policies must adopt a cross-sectoral approach, comprising rural economic development, social progress, cultural and character development, civic education, community empowerment in legal and land-related matters, and essential service enhancement. The program implications could serve as valuable guidance for policymakers who helped to accelerate and develop the coastal economy, particularly in developing countries.
